I’m Joss, a 26 year old, first time home buyer that was seeking something affordable that might be comparable to rent, as California rent prices are extremely high. A little background, I had some savings, although not much, with a modest salary as most millennials find themselves nowadays. Struggling to find affordable rent, I decided to see if I could invest in something that would allow me the flexibility to still save or least feel that my money wasn’t going to another landlord. This is when I seeked my real estate team. Aris Avalos came to me highly recommended by multiple people that have worked with him in the past. My excellent experience started long before a transaction even began.
A few months before seeking a home, I sat down to discuss numbers, and he let me and my partner know what it would take to get us ready for qualification. This included consultation on credit improvement and a push to save just a little more money. This conversation really opened up my eyes to what type of properties I would be looking for and what kind of budget I’d have to work with. His professionalism and interest in that my experience was a positive one from the start, solidified that I would work with him.
The process of the loan was surprisingly simple. Again, I am a first time home buyer with little interest in numbers as a graphic artist, but Aris was able to walk me through each step. I was pre-qualified which allowed me advantage over other competitive offers on homes as I was shopping with my realtor and when I found the home for me. It was a huge reason why the seller chose my offer. In addition he helped me enroll in a Keys on Time program that secured the best interest rate for me while I shopped. This was game changing!
In addition his team also did a fantastic job of keeping up to date on paperwork, the process, and milestones. Despite being a hectic time in the world, I always felt secure and informed with what was going on in the loan process and the outside circumstances did not deter from the time frame I was told the transaction would close.
Overall I can’t give more than five stars, but if I could I would. I was able to purchase my first home with a mortgage that is much cheaper than the average rent price in California. How cheap? Let’s just say everyone that I tell is shocked and I have a pool. This was beyond my goal and will allow me to continue to have an active lifestyle and save for my next home, which of course, I will have to bring Aris back on. If you’re looking for an expert, look no further.
